I joined PGOB at the beginning of 2013 at the encouragement of Armelle. I have used a camera since the old days of using my Dad's Box Brownie when I was at high-school, and upgraded after that. I was reluctant at first to turn digital, but It was when I bought my first digital camera in 2005 that my photography really took off. I now have 2 cameras that I use regularly - my go everywhere with me Canon G11 and my Canon 60D for my serious work. I bought this last year when my 450 had an internal hemorrhage.
My husband and I like to travel as much as we can, and have seen a lot of Western Australia, and we enjoy going bush and camping. I work 4 days a week, but in my spare time I write freelance - travel articles mostly - for a couple of Australian magazines. I am always looking for new places to explore and write about, and of course take photos of to illustrate the story.
Food photography has become a bit of a passion in the last few years, but I still don't have the confidence to "put myself out there" and promote myself as a food photographer. But I am working towards that goal.
By joining the Photography Group I hoped to meet other photographers, learn, get some exposure, and get some feedback about my work.
I was interested to hear Wendy that you are a Bibbulmum Track volunteer. I have walked a couple of short sections of the track. I would love to go out with you some time on the track....and already have a magazine article in mind......
