Mastery of Photo Shop is essential for getting the ultimate from your photography and fine art images. What you will learn from this workshop is that Adobe Photoshop is a powerful imaging program which is not hard to use and is the industry standard for serious photographers. Soon you will be producing some amazing images from your initial camera capture, regardless of whether you have a point and shoot camera, or a more sophisticated Digital SLR or mirrorless. These two half days will introduce you gently to the complex and sometimes baffling array of functions on offer from this digital darkroom and give you a thorough grounding that will allow you to work on your images in ways you never thought possible.

BEGINNER CLASS - 9.30-12.30pm - Morning Tea included:
Participants will learn:
• Photoshop, how does the ‘beast’ work?
• Correct setting up of Photoshop for a pro workflow to maximize ease of working, speed and potential
• File types and their use
• Cropping
• Histograms and how to read them
• Managing; opening; closing; saving and re-sizing files
• The power of layers – the basis of Photoshop and how they work
• The magic of adjustment layers
• Levels; Curves; Hue/Sat/Luminance; Black and White; Brightness/ Contrast adjustment layers
• Easy colour corrections
• Dodging and burning non-destructively – darkroom magic the easy way

ADVANCED CLASS - 1pm to 4.30pm - Afternoon Tea included:
Participants will learn:
• Brief revision of Beginner’s Class
• Cropping; straightening and adjusting perspective the pro way
• Clone, patch, heal and content aware tools for re-touching
• Using masks effectively, reveal the hidden treasures captured when applying global and local enhancements – the reason you should be using Photoshop
• Saving time with Actions, efficiency with creative flair
• Adobe Camera Raw – advanced options
• The secret to pro sharpening and using third party software
• Nick’s favourite plug-ins for amazing results with Photoshop including AI Clear, A.L.C.E. and Photokit Sharpener
• Example of workflow on images from ‘go’ to ‘whoa’

Both sessions will run on the Saturday 29th June 2019.
Beginners - 9.30pm - 12.30pm
Intermediate / Advanced - 1pm - 4.30pm

Maximum Participants each session: 20
Priority will be given to PGOB members first then open to the public after 1st June 2019 if spots remain.
