Sorry I missed it, but I was having my own little wildflower & orchid shoot in the hills at the back of Harvey today. I will look forward to seeing some images from this morning. What orchids did you find?

A great morning out thanks Mike. I just wanted to share a couple of images that I took with some out of the norm hardware. The images are nothing special but I was pleasantly surprised with the results.

I'll be travelling overseas next month and was told to take a macro lens but unfortunately I'm overweight with camera gear already so it won't be coming along.
Something that I learnt on the WAPF weekend at Tozer's last month was to use my 70-200mm lens with my 1.4x converter which are both coming with me and then add an extension tube, in my case I've added a 20mm one.

If you don't have a macro lens a cheaper alternative is the Extension Tube

First image focal length 145mm f11 and the 2nd was 120mm f7.1 both handheld in a light breeze.

Cheers Chris

Thanks Mike for a great day out lest Sunday. Orchids are so small I would never have been able to find a location to photograph them. Also thanks for the tips re how to successfully photograph them.

Also Chris thanks for the tip about the extension tube. I don't have a macro lens for my Fuji but note that there is a Fuji extension tube which could solve my problem for travelling.
